Birth Doula

 

  • An initial  prenatal discussion to discuss your expectations relating to the involvement of a doula, options of doula services available,and the choice of individual doula that you feel will best meet your need. This will enable you to make an informed choice as to the doula of your preference.
  •  Availability by email, phone and personal home visits to answer questions about your pregnancy,the upcoming birth, breastfeeding, or other concerns during your pregnancy period
  • Assistance in outlining options for labour and birth and guidance in preparing your birth plan.
  • 24 hour support and availability during the on-call period beginning two weeks prior to the expected birth date
  • Early labour support at home or at your final birth location.
  • Attendance and support at the birth and immediate postnatal care.
  • Assistance with the initiation of breastfeeding.
  • Unlimited Post-natal visits, one within 48 hours of the birth, and further visits at your home to provide ongoing support during the period of adjusting to the needs of your baby. These visits continue until you feel condident you can manage without further doula support.
